Accounts Admin Assistant
Providing support to the Accounts Supervisor, the successful applicant will provide reliable and accurate financial support to the business on a part-time basis. This role requires a high level of accuracy, sound accounting knowledge, while supporting the finance team with day-to-day and period-end accounting activities as well as support to the wider administration team.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with minimal supervision
· Handle queries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances
· Prepare, process, and reconcile invoices, payments, and receipts
· Perform regular bank, credit card, supplier, and customer reconciliations
· Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting systems
· Prepare purchasing accruals as required
· Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliations
· Support payroll processing, pension, and expense claims where applicable
· Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant
legislation
· Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders
· Identify and recommend process improvements within the accounts function
· Support the wider admin team e.g. answering phones and receiving deliveries.
· Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
· Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a part-time environment
· Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills
· Professional communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision
· Confident in delivering financial information to non-financial managers
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role
· Demonstrated experience managing accounts functions independently
· Formal qualification or certification in accounting or bookkeeping, minimum Level 2
AAT
· Experience with Xero cloud-based accounting system and Microsoft Office packages
including Excel and Word
· Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial information

· Part-time hours 16 to 20 hours per week
· Office-based. Potential for hybrid working arrangement following successful
completion of probationary period
