Analyst, Commercial Planning (SDS - A Warner Bros. & Universal Pictures Joint Venture)
About the position
The Analyst Commercial Planning will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day commercial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis for the SDS business, including segment performance, studio partner / partner label performance, category performance and trend reporting. This individual will work with the Finance, Retail Planning, Sales, and Trade Marketing teams on budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Track and report on Universal and Warner Bros (WB) category sales across key business segments.
- Distribute weekly reporting to internal stakeholders across functional areas and to SDS leadership.
- Assist with monthly sales reporting for SDS partner studios, and resulting updated forecast outlook.
- Assist with development of databases capturing historical release and promotion performance.
- Assist in preparation of commercial budget, forecast, and pacing outlooks for SDS.
- Participate in monthly dialogue with SDS Retail Planning field teams for non-TNR forecast updates / inputs, and monthly pacing.
- Participate in development of monthly revenue commercial pacing materials for WB / Universal catalog and TV businesses.
- Update monthly Trade Spend Reporting across US/Canada businesses.
- Assist with any special projects and support cross-functional business initiatives.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with WB and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, ensuring transparent and timely commercial reporting and outlook.
- Operate as power-user of Marvin, Tableau, CRMI, and any future SDS data warehouse reporting resources.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or financial planning or forecasting
- Exceptional analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Experience in analytics and data visualization (SQL, SAS, Excel, Tableau, etc.)
- Ability to maintain various forecasting and reporting models
- Ability to validate and interpret large data sets
- Ability to collaborate across multiple internal and external functional groups
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with internal teams including all stakeholders
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and shifting priorities
