Assistant Head Chef/ Kitchen Manager

We are a full-service, BBQ restaurant concept looking for an experienced Assistant Head Chef/ Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Assuming the Chef position in chef’s absence.

· Help expedite to ensure food is prepared correctly in terms of order accuracy, temperate, taste, and appearance.

· Direct FOOD runners with guiding and directing how the food is presented.

· Ensure the safety of all allergy sensitive dishes are prepared to the highest food safety standards to project guest safety. Ensure only a server or a manager aware of said allergy delivers food to the guests.

· Maintain a safe work environment following MA food safety guidelines and laws.

· Help with the everyday preparation including reviewing event orders ahead of time and leading execution.

· Maintain walk ins, dry storage clean and kitchen prep stations with the team’s help to keep work areas clean and organized.

· Communicate with management when a problem arises to find the appropriate solutions for all parties involved.

· Train new kitchen employees and continually coach current staff.

· Maintain quality standards.

· Assist with inventory, supplies, deliveries, and weekly ordering.

Schedule

· Monday 3pm to 9pm

· Tuesday & Wednesday off

· Thursday 3 to 10pm

· Friday 9am to 3pm

· Saturday 3pm to 10pm

· Sunday 9am-8:30pm

What We’re Looking For Assistant Head Chef/ Assistant Kitchen Manager

  • Experience in traditional or BBQ restaurant kitchens
  • Skilled in salad, fry, grill, and expo stations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to order according to budget/pars and manage vendor deliveries
  • Proactive, punctual, and ready for a challenge
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment
  • No education requirement

· Have a serve safe food preparation manager certification within 2 weeks of accepting the role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
