Bank Teller
Gouverneur Savings & Loan Association has an immediate full time teller position open in our Cape Vincent and Chaumont location. We are looking for a dependable, organized individual with cash handling experience, good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. We offer excellent benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receives checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.*
Cashes checks and processes withdrawals, pays out money after verification of signatures customer balances.*
Promotes and explains other financial institution services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, savings, holiday clubs and safe deposit boxes.*
Receives commercial, mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due.*
Enters payments into computer and generates customer receipts.*
Places hold on uncollected funds.*
Counts, checks, and packages coins and currency.*
Processes credit card transactions.*
Balances cash drawer or cash recycler at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.*
Ensures that the Teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.*
Reports malfunctions of Teller terminals, cash recyclers and other equipment used at the teller station.*
Balances ATM machines and replenishes them as needed.*
Completes cross-training for other positions for back-up as needed.*
Performs other duties as assigned and directed by management.
