Job Description for Banking Relationship Specialist:

Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality service in a retail banking environment by processing financial transactions and assisting with account openings. The Banking Relationship Specialist introduces bank products and services to prospective clients and provides tailored guidance to existing customers to strengthen relationships. This role contributes to the achievement of sales and referral objectives, participates in outbound sales efforts, and supports banking center management as needed.

Qualifications for Banking Relationship Specialist:

  • The educational prerequisite involves obtaining either a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
  • One year of Teller experience is preferred.
  • Successfully passing the credit background examination is a key component for validation.

Sales and Service:

  • Support tellers and customers to ensure efficient service and minimize wait times.
  • Perform teller duties including deposits, withdrawals, currency handling, and check cashing.
  • Assist with opening and maintaining deposit accounts, such as checking, savings, IRAs, CDs, and money market accounts.
  • Engage in consultative conversations to identify client needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities and refer clients to bank partners to grow business and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular outbound calls to clients and prospects, particularly for deposit and loan campaigns.
  • Guide clients through personal and retail consumer loan applications and ensure completed forms are directed to the appropriate associate.

Client Experience:

  • Investigate and resolve client issues while addressing inquiries about account status.
  • Ensure clients consistently receive professional, positive, and reliable service.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to client questions and concerns.
  • Enhance product and service knowledge by participating in sales meetings, training sessions, and online learning resources.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Adhere to all relevant bank regulations, policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Follow risk management standards and uphold the ethical guidelines outlined in the First Horizon Code of Ethics.
  • Maintain compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and associated regulatory requirements.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Support banking center staff with operational tasks, with particular attention to audit controls.
  • Assist in training new associates to gain practical experience in banking center operations.
  • Stay informed on operational updates and procedural changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.

Computer and Office Skills:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Skilled in operating office and banking tools, including a 10-key calculator and coin-counting devices.

DeGarmo Behavioral Assessment Requirement:

  • Completion of the DeGarmo Retail Behavioral Assessment is required for all candidates.
  • The assessment typically takes 12–15 minutes to complete.
  • Assessment results must be submitted prior to Talent Acquisition reviewing the application.
