Barista/Food Service Worker

Department: Front of House Operations

Reports to: Job Group Manager, General Manager, or Manager on Duty

Payrate: $23.55 per hour, plus tips

Typical Work Week: 30 – 40 hours

Position Summary

As a hospitality company, the number one responsibility of every employee, regardless of position, is to provide excellent customer service and to create a warm, inviting, and hospitable environment for our guests and each other.

The Barista/Cashier provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service. The primary responsibility is to ensure coffee and other drinks, as well as bar food items, are prepared to guest’s order specifications. They are responsible for ringing up sales and processing transactions quickly and accurately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure menu items are prepared to guest’s order specifications.
  • Finalizes plate presentation.
  • Displays in depth knowledge of the menu.
  • Aware of items out of stock, back in stock, and limited quantities.
  • Stocks POS supplies, expeditor supplies, to go supplies, silverware and plate ware.
  • Performs cleaning side work as assigned.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Able to accurately use point of sale computers with strict adherence to Concord Collective Partners Accountability System. Able to accept different types of payment methods and make correct change

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Physical ability to carry plate ware.
  • The physical ability to balance heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • High energy and stamina required.
  • The ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure.
  • The ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
  • Verbal communication skills required.
  • Willingness to work at all times (open availability).
  • The ability to read menus, safety documents, etc.
  • Food Handler and RBS certificate required.
  • Background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The work is physically and mentally demanding. They are on their feet much of the time. Baristas must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with Customers.
