American Express Ventures American Express Ventures (“Amex Ventures”) is the corporate venture capital arm of American Express passionate about early-stage (primarily Seed – Series B) investments across consumer, fintech, commerce and enterprise software. We’re looking for an individual to support the team on critical and innovative projects as an Investment Manager. How will you make an impact in this role?<ul><li>Participation in deal pipeline activities including sourcing, evaluating, executing investments </li><li>Supporting research and creation of investment thesis </li><li>Proactively identifying potential investments, meeting with, and qualifying startups; will have extensive exposure to and be encouraged to develop strong relations with the venture and entrepreneurial communities </li><li>Assisting in management and reporting on the active pipeline </li><li>Evaluating potential target companies from strategic, operational and financial valuation perspectives </li><li>Ad hoc projects and results as needed Please note that this Summer Internship is a great opportunity to gain experience but is for temporary employment and will not lead to a full-time role at American Express.</li></ul> This position will be based in San Francisco or New York. Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 2 years previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy and/or business development </li><li>Currently enrolled in a full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program</li><li>Students must have a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul><li> Analytical and social skills</li><li>At least 2-4 years previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy and/or business development </li><li>Track record of being self-reliant, and operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment </li><li>Strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations and to provide thought leadership </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Strong financial, analytical and valuation skills </li><li>Proven track record to work optimally with collaborators and get results </li><li>Curiosity about the startup ecosystem </li><li>Passion for American Express and desire to drive innovation through startup investing Subject-matter expertise in relevant investment verticals is a plus</li></ul> Salary Range: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly + sign-on bonus The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
