Profee Dental Surgery Coder
Location: Remote (Mountain Standard Time Hours)
Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Professional Fee (Profee) Dental Coder to join an expanding enterprise-level coding team. This position focuses on coding dental surgical procedures with precision and adherence to compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have strong CPT and ICD-10 coding expertise, specifically related to dental or oral surgery, and will thrive in a fast-paced remote environment requiring accuracy, focus, and self-motivation.
You’ll be joining a team known for its organization, high standards, and collaborative structure—with consistent support from lead coders and supervisors, monthly performance check-ins, and clear productivity metrics. This is a great opportunity for a coder ready to contribute to one of the most respected health systems in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Dental Surgery services.
- Review medical documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Follow NCCI guidelines and payer-specific rules.
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or claim edits.
- Maintain productivity benchmarks of 20–25 encounters per hour (guideline, not rigid).
- Stay current on all coding updates and compliance changes.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance while working remotely.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Profee coding experience (Dental Surgery or Oral Surgery preferred).
- AAPC or AHIMA certification required (AAPC preferred).
- Experience with Epic and EncoderPro (Optum) required.
- Thorough knowledge of NCCI guidelines and Medicare coding rules.
- Proven ability to pass coding assessments at 90%+ accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail and self-motivation.
- Must be able to work Mountain Standard Time hours.
- Must pass a drug test (including marijuana) — no exceptions for medical marijuana.
- Must disclose all concurrent contracts or positions to avoid conflicts of interest.

- 90-day training period with support from lead coders.
- Assessment required prior to interview.
- Monthly progress reviews by coding supervisors.
- HIPAA-compliant remote setup required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.98 - $30.00 per hour
