Hours/Duration: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Location: Shipley (Hybrid working is available with approx 1-2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £55,000-£65,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Company Benefits

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing next-generation lighting control systems, from circuit and firmware design to testing and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and test electronic circuits and embedded systems for lighting control.
  • Develop firmware for ESP32 microcontrollers, focusing on real-time control and wireless connectivity.
  • Implement and troubleshoot DMX512, RDM, and Art-Net/sACN protocols for theatrical applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturable designs and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct PCB design and hardware debugging, providing technical documentation and production support.

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems design, particularly with ESP32 processors.
  • Experience with theatrical lighting control systems and relevant protocols (DMX512, RDM, Art-Net) is desired but not essential.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad) and programming in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment and power electronics for LED drivers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with wireless lighting control solutions and understanding of entertainment lighting applications is preferred but not essential.
