Experienced Editor for Kids, Teens

Hello, and thanks for reading the job post.

We're a growing self-publishing team producing books for kids, teens, and adults - from skills-based teen guides and early readers, to humorous gift-style non-fiction for adults (sports, hobbies, lifestyle, etc.).

We're looking for a sharp, reliable editor who can move fast, improve text directly (not just comment on it), and comfortably liaise with writers to keep projects moving.

What You'll Be Doing
• Edit and improve manuscripts from our writers (line, copy, light developmental).
• Make direct changes where needed - not endless back-and-forth.
• Ensure tone, structure, and style match the brief and outline.
• Give clear feedback to writers and help steer revisions when needed.

What We're Looking For
• Excellent, native-level English.
• Confident editing both fiction and non-fiction.
• Comfortable improving content, not just correcting grammar.
• Experience working with writers or content teams.
• Fast turnaround and good time management.
• Comfortable with Google Docs, Slack, etc.
• Experience with KDP/kids/teen books or humorous adult non-fiction is a big plus.

Working Style
• Initially part-time, starting with one project.
• Ongoing work available for the right person.
• Some availability during UK daytime preferred.

How to Apply
Please include:
• A short cover note explaining relevant experience
• Examples of editing or writing work

The words "NO TYPOS HERE" in your message (so we know you read this)

Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
