Provider Risk Analytics Intern (Finance) - 2026 Summer Internship Program Healthfirst’s 2026 Summer Trailblazer Internship is a 10-week paid program beginning on June 1, 2026. This is an immersive and interactive learning experience that lays a foundation for continued leadership development. We helped pioneer the value-based healthcare model—where hospitals and physicians are paid based on patient outcomes—because our company was founded on the belief that insurers need to be true partners in the health system.  Position Summary: The Provider Risk Analytics Intern in Finance will support the Provider Risk Analytics Team in performing functions that enable key business processes and practices. The Provider Risk Analytics Intern will contribute to a broad set of projects across the department.<br><br><strong>Duties & Responsibilities<br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Develop an understanding of the Healthfirst overall business and risk model, with a focus on how to support provider organizations to improve financial performance and how value-based care can drive improved outcomes</li><li>Attend internal and external provider meetings to develop an understanding of how theProviderRisk Analytics work fits into the larger Healthfirst enterprise strategy</li><li>Performanalysis anddataprojectstobegin to develop an understanding of how tomonitorcost and revenuetrends,use analytics andvarious typesof healthcare data toidentifyimprovementopportunities, and model and communicate impact to providers<br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Qualifications<br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Degree or currently enrolled inFinance, Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Math, Statistics,Economics or related programs</li><li>Undergraduate students must bejunioror senior at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program. Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program.</li><li>Will not require sponsorship for employment</li><li>Eligible to work in the U.S.</li><li>Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA from an accredited school<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Degreeor currently enrolledinFinance, Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Math, Statistics,Economics orrelated programs</li><li>Knowledge of SQL based applicationsand Tableau</li><li>Work experience with Microsoft Excel - create pivot tables, formatting, sorting,createspreadsheets with complex formulas such as v-look ups.</li><li>Self-motivated, creative problem solver who can work independently and collaborate throughstrong communicationand interpersonal skills.</li><li>Experience managing projects</li><li>Knowledgeof Medicaid and Medicare programs</li><li>Knowledge of healthcare data (claims,diagnosis,and procedure codes, etc.)<br><br></li></ul><em>At this time, Healthfirst will only consider applicants who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require visa sponsorship from Healthfirst now or in the future, toretaintheir authorization to work in the United States.<br><br><br><br></em><strong>Hiring Range*:<br><br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $40,200 - $54,570</li><li>All Other Locations (within approved locations): $34,900 - $52,000<br><br></li></ul>As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.<br><br>In addition to your salary, Healthfirst offers employees a full range of benefits such as, medical, dental and vision coverage, incentive and recognition programs, life insurance, and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
