About You and This Role:
Dow is offering an exciting opportunity for a Financial Cost Analyst at our Fort Saskatchewan, AB location!
In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting activities recorded in the companys books. Your responsibilities will include budgeting, product costing, recording, reporting, analyzing, and communicating functional and business activity results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial statements accurately reflect the companys operations and financial position.
- Assist function and business management teams with financial analysis for decision-making.
- Record, monitor, report, and communicate function and business results, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform product costing of materials, review variances, and communicate results to business and plant management.
- Conduct product inventory and fixed assets reviews.
- Provide financial analysis for project studies, options analysis, and productivity/benchmarking measurements, maintaining ongoing working relationships with other sub-processes and functions.
- Facilitate the budget setting process and monthly/quarterly estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class, Sergeant ranking or higher.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An accounting designation (i.e., CPA) is an asset but not required.
- Experience in the accounting field is desirable.
