The Role: Inventory Manager
Key Responsibilities:
· Inventory Department Oversight:
o Responsible for inventory recording, packaging, procurement, compliance, and accuracy in all phases of the retail sales of cannabis products in the dispensary. Supervision of inventory staff members and will be the deciding authority regarding the inventory department's daily functions
o Implement inventory controls to track and account for all cannabis, cannabis products, and non-cannabis products.
o Perform inventory audits daily, weekly, and monthly as needed
· Compliance and Regulation:
o Follow state guidelines to maintain an accurate physical inventory and ensure the integrity of the dispensary records
o Assist in managing the State inventory system METRC
o Assist in deliveries that will be taken into the dispensary, ensuring they are accurate
o Adding all new products received into METRC and the Company POS
o Participate in assessing the internal controls over the inventory to identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans for continuous improvement
o Maintain records, including operational procedures, inventory records, audit records, storage and transfer records, waste records, inventory personnel files, discrepancy & adjustment reports to ensure all inventory issues are handled in a timely fashion
o Adhere to all mandatory state regulations
· Procurement and Product Selection:
o Oversee the procurement process to ensure consistent availability of products preferred by our customer base
o Ability to negotiate successfully on behalf of the organization
Must-Have Skills:
· Leadership Skills: Responsible for leadership and direction of the inventory team with a high level of professionalism. The inventory manager will be responsible for providing employee feedback, reviews and assisting with staffing decisions.
· Industry Knowledge: Possesses a high level of knowledge regarding the Maryland Cannabis industry, regulatory environment and all relevant stakeholders.
· Effective Communication: Strong communication skills including proactive communication with staff and inter-departmental colleagues, ability to give and receive constructive feedback and maintain composure in difficult situations.
· Detail-Oriented: A strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and strategic planning to move forward company goals and initiatives.
· Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing company needs.
· Problem-Solving: The ability to resolve any problem that arises in the inventory department, employee conflicts and vendor communication.
· Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to cannabis sales regulations.
Education, Training, and Experience:
· Must be at least 21 years old.
· Can lift 50lbs.
· 2+ years of management experience.
· Cannabis industry experience preferred.
Schedule:
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, as we operate 363 days a year.
