This role is ideal for a <strong>confident, self-directed paralegal</strong> who is comfortable managing litigation workflows independently, particularly within <strong>Cook County courts</strong>.</p><p>The position begins as a <strong>fractional role (approximately 60–74 hours per month)</strong> with the opportunity for expanded responsibilities and additional hours as trust is established. The target start date is <strong>January 5th or 6th</strong>, and onboarding will move quickly.</p><hr><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li><p>E-file pleadings and ensure filed documents are properly saved and organized</p></li><li><p>Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed orders using existing templates and forms</p></li><li><p>Manage case deadlines, court notices, and annual reporting requirements</p></li><li><p>Coordinate courtesy copy production in compliance with judges’ standing orders</p></li><li><p>Handle new client onboarding and ongoing client communications</p></li><li><p>Communicate with clients regarding signatures, pleadings, payments, and case updates</p></li><li><p>Prepare bond applications and coordinate with bondsmen and clients</p></li><li><p>Calendar management and scheduling</p></li><li><p>Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy as assigned</p></li><li><p>Maintain organized digital case files and compliance tracking</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h3><ul><li><p><strong>Illinois paralegal</strong> with strong knowledge of <strong>Cook County court procedures</strong></p></li><li><p>Proven experience in <strong>litigation and motion practice</strong></p></li><li><p>Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision</p></li><li><p>Strong attention to detail and deadline management</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Proficiency in <strong>Clio</strong></p></li><li><p>Experience using <strong>Adobe</strong> for document preparation and management</p></li><li><p>Prior experience supporting solo or small-firm attorneys</p></li><li><p>Ability to quickly review and follow SOPs, training manuals, and templates</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Compensation & Schedule</strong></h3><ul><li><p><strong>Rate:</strong> $30–$35 per hour (fractional)</p></li><li><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Approximately 15+ hours per week (60–74 hours monthly)</p></li><li><p><strong>Work Arrangement:</strong> 100% virtual, with optional Chicago Loop office access</p></li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Why This Role</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Fully remote with flexible scheduling</p></li><li><p>Direct support of one attorney initially</p></li><li><p>Clear path toward increased responsibility and full-time employment</p></li><li><p>Structured onboarding with existing SOPs and templates</p></li><li><p>Opportunity to make an immediate impact in a litigation-focused practice</p></li></ul>
