[Remote] Americas Customs Operations Leader
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GE Aerospace is a leading company in the aerospace industry, seeking an Americas Customs Operations Leader. This role is responsible for managing customs operations across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing processes for a high volume of shipments.
Responsibilities
- Operate within a global model and execute the strategy for Customs operations in the region
- Ensure the pre-declaration review is performed including confirmation that valuation, classification, country of origin and any applicable special program documentation is complete before an import or export occurs
- Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and own shipment issue resolution
- Ensure there are trained personnel supporting the Customs activities in the region
- Duty mitigation with the extensive LEAN understanding
- Identify Customs risks areas and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks
- Evaluate internal controls and drive implementation of recommended improvement plans
- Prepare periodic reports and metrics on duty, quality, savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments and value creation
- Lead Regional Customs Councils
- Lead business level risk reviews and action plans for risk reduction
- Manage local Customs agency relationships
- Respond to Internal/External requests & investigations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with minimum 5 years experience in Customs Processes
- US Customs Broker License Preferred
- Advanced degree from accredited university
- Wing to wing expertise across customs processes
