[Remote] Expeditor - OFCI interface

The Expeditor role involves planning, staffing, and budgeting for project expediting operations, ensuring timely supplier engagement and monitoring production schedules to meet project requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Participates in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project and area expediting operations for small sized projects
  • Distributes workload to assigned project expeditors according to the experience and ability of the expeditor, the degree of complexity of the work and the urgency of the need for action
  • Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment
  • Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers’ programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements
  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly
  • Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers
  • Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates
  • Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative

Skills

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work with engineering, construction and the other procurement team members
  • Good understanding of production methods and stays abreast of all supplier fabrication steps
  • Provides early warning to the Expediting Supervisor of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage
  • Familiar with expediting points of order for pre-award and post-award meetings with suppliers
  • Skilled in the use of Bechtel Procurement System (BPS) and the Supplier Performance Database (SPD) functions
