About the position
As a Service Transition Professional, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring new and changed services are seamlessly introduced into live operation for the Devon and Cornwall Police ICT environment. You’ll be the bridge between projects and operations, ensuring every service meets the required standards before go-live. Your work ensures stability, compliance, and confidence in the technology that supports critical policing services. Please note you must either hold or be eligible for SC (Security Clearance) & NPPV 3 Clearance for this role, which will require a minimum of 5 years working history in the UK to be eligible.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and managing qualifying changes to new or existing services through the Service Transition process, ensuring compliance and successful onboarding into live operations.
- Coordinating multiple stakeholders — balancing customer needs and BT priorities — and managing exceptions to achieve the best possible outcomes for all parties.
- Leading quarterly Post Implementation Reviews to drive continuous improvement, share best practice, and enhance future project delivery.
- Maintaining ISO 20000:2018 compliance, monitoring KPIs and SLAs, and recommending improvements to strengthen Service Transition performance.
- Building strong customer relationships through regular engagement and site visits, influencing key stakeholders to embed ITIL principles and support service excellence across the Devon & Cornwall Police ICT contract.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build trusted relationships across all levels of BT and customer organisations.
- Proven experience delivering Service Transition or Service Management activities in an ITIL-aligned environment, ideally with knowledge of ISO 20000:2018 standards.
- ITIL 4 Foundation qualification (or equivalent experience) and confidence using Service Transition tools and processes.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the tenacity to manage multiple deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset - demonstrating ownership, collaboration, and clear, confident communication.
