Vehicles Database Developer & Specialist
About the position
The Opportunity: The Vehicles Database Developer and Specialist will perform professional and administrative duties in overseeing and managing the Wheels Database for the Vehicles Design Team; This person will serve as the primary designee responsible for coordinating the development, maintenance, and enhancements of the custom FileMaker-based Wheels Database; We are looking for someone to ensure effective communication and collaborative problem-solving between the Vehicles Design Team, cross-functional Mattel stakeholders, and external users; and provide high-level system oversight to ensure timely, reliable, and successful database operations supporting Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and expanding Wheels brands. What Your Impact Will Be: Responsible for database program management, interdepartmental coordination, problem solving, and process streamlining.Work is accomplished within a broad framework, with substantial oversight for system operations.Expertise in FileMaker development, database architecture, and custom system integration, with a focus on coordinating complex, high-impact data systems for toy vehicle design and production.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Proven track record in system integrations, enhancements, and support for growing user bases.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, or a related field is desirable. An equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
- Knowledge of: Principles and practices of database administration, FileMaker development, and custom system management; methods and techniques of integration and enhancement implementation.
- Claris FileMaker, scripting, AI integrations, and related technologies;proven experience and knowledge in cross-platform development for both Mac and Windows environments
- Principles of effective communication and conflict resolution; modern office procedures and computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools
- Ability to: Manage and coordinate complex, high-impact database systems; serve as the primary point of contact for major stakeholders; exercise sound judgment and strategic decision-making in resolving issues and addressing challenges
Nice-to-haves
- Certification as a Claris FileMaker Developer or similar credential is desirable.
